Where do we find support?

I turned 47 this year and still need my Mom. Especially when times are tough, I miss her a lot. Where do we turn for advice and support when our Moms are here to support us? It can feel really lonely.

I started the Project because I wanted to honour my Mom but I wanted to create community, find others who felt the way I do.  It brings my enormous comfort to read your stories and get your messages, it's an amazing connection to women around the world.

I think after all of these years, this is what I've learned about my grief. It really comes in waves and hits me at unexpected times. I feel like I'm doing ok and then there it is again. After 29 years, I thought I'd miss her less but honestly, when I'm struggling, I miss her like she was she here yesterday. I'm a long way from 18, that's for sure, but I still need her good advice and her favourite hobby, retail therapy.

In tough times like these, I'm so grateful for this community of amazing women.

Thank you for being here.
