There is so much grief in the world. If 2020 has shown us nothing else, it’s that the grief in the world is palpable. Sometimes grief looks like rage, desperation, anxiety, depression and sadness. Grief is deep sorrow, especially caused by someone’s death. There has been so much death and sorrow around the world, so much suffering and death from COVID-19, racism and poverty. People have so much anger and resentment, so much deep sorrow.

The Motherlove Project grew from my desire to connect with other motherless daughters, share my grief and what it has taught me and help others to do the same. But this Project has already taught me much more - there is a global community of women who have experienced more sorrow in their lives than they’ve ever talked about. It has also given me a community I never knew existed, a community of women who have embraced each other’s grief. For that, I am truly grateful.
